SUMMARY:Headwaters Ultra 50k/30k/10k
DESCRIPTION:Headwaters Trail Runs are 50k\, 30k\, and 10k trail running events held in the Klamath Mountains west of Mount Shasta City\, CA.  These three scenic trail runs are named after the headwaters of the Sacramento River. \nThe 50k and 30k races are scenic\, mountainous loop courses.  They are run entirely on single-track trails and dirt forest roads that wind up\, down\, around\, and through the rugged mountains that claim host to the crystal-clear headwaters of California’s longest river. The 10k race is a relatively flat\, fast loop on the lake trail that circles the forested shores of picturesque Lake Siskiyou. \nThe magnificent backdrop for both runs is the majestic Mt. Shasta (14\,179′ elev.)\, the most massive of all the Cascade volcanoes.  Runners are rewarded with clean mountain air\, challenging terrain\, fully-stocked aid stations\, and a welcoming and enthusiastic volunteer staff. \nAll participants receive a hearty\, organic meal made by local chef Jacqueline Hertzog – arguably the best post-race meal anywhere!  Participants also receive a commemorative race t-shirt\, and a unique finisher’s medal. \nHeadwaters Trail Runs is a cupless event\, and runners will need to carry with them a means to get drink at the aid stations.  We do our best to reduce the waste generated by this event in all aspects.  Please consider bringing your own reusable plate\, utensils\, and cup for the post-race meal.

DESCRIPTION:How many times can you run 4 miles in an hour? \nA secluded and beautiful 4.166667 -mile out and back course along The Great Shasta Rail Trail. Any time under 60 minutes counts as success! When you finish\, you can sit down\, eat and drink\, visit with other runners\, whatever. \nWhen the 60 minutes are up\, head back the same way \nOnce again you have exactly 60 minutes to finish. And then… \nYou Get To Do It Again! \nThe first time that you fail to finish a 4.166667 mile leg in 60 minutes\, game over.. \nAnd if you do make it\, congratulations\, you’re tied for first place! \nHow many legs can you do? How many miles? \nHow long can you keep up the pace? \nSince everyone starts every lap together and hangs out together between laps\, this is a very social event. As for the race yourself\, whether your goal is one lap or 20\, your main competition is yourself. How far can you go? And will you be able to come back next year and go further? No time limit\, I’ll stick around as long as you keep up the 4MPH pace! (I’m not worried\, I know that sleep deprivation will catch up with you eventually). \nWe will have 4 Categories:\n1.
